England’s quicks must be rearranged for the West Indies trip because to injury

Due to an injury sustained by Josh Tongue during training, England had to reconfigure their fast bowling lineup for their next white-ball series against the West Indies.<img decoding=”async” class=”alignnone wp-image-287734″ src=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/theindiaprint.com-englands-quicks-must-be-rearranged-for-the-west-indies-trip-because-to-injury-down.jpg” alt=”theindiaprint.com englands quicks must be rearranged for the west indies trip because to injury down” width=”982″ height=”550″ title=”England's quicks must be rearranged for the West Indies trip because to injury 6″ srcset=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/theindiaprint.com-englands-quicks-must-be-rearranged-for-the-west-indies-trip-because-to-injury-down.jpg 300w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/theindiaprint.com-englands-quicks-must-be-rearranged-for-the-west-indies-trip-because-to-injury-down-150×84.jpg 150w” sizes=”(max-width: 982px) 100vw, 982px” />

According to ICC, Tongue sustained an injury at an England Lions training camp in the United Arab Emirates. As a result, he will miss the three-match ODI series in the Caribbean next month as well as the five-game T20I series that follows.

For the ODI portion of the series, Tongue will be replaced by inexperienced right-armer Matthew Potts; however, no replacement has been announced for the T20Is.

Potts has represented England in three ODIs; his most recent appearance was in a match against Ireland in Bristol, which took place soon before the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup got underway.

Although Tongue has participated in two Test matches for his nation, he has not yet made his white-ball debut. Tongue was eager to make an impression after England’s failure to get to the 50-over World Cup semifinals in India.
